Welcome to the home page of the Society for the Preservation of Historic Thornhill.
The Society for the Preservation of Historic Thornhill (S.P.O.H.T.) was founded
in 1974, following the rapid urbanization of this once rural community.
Residents wanted a medium through which they might preserve the
disappearing architectural heritage of Thornhill.
Over the past 35 years S.P.O.H.T. has undertaken activities such as the
annual Thornhill Village Festival, the production of local history education
resources, the installation of over a dozen heritage markers, and the
establishment of the Thornhill Archives & Special Collections. In addition to
these projects, SPOHT also hosts guest speakers and other special events
throughout the year.
Please support and enjoy these efforts by becoming a member.
