The title of my talk is The Successes and Failures of Gardening with Heritage Plants. I talk about the challenge of finding reliable historical references of the types of plants grown in 1860s Ontario and in sourcing heritage seeds/plants. I also talk about growing plants from seed and the benefits of doing so. Sandra has an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture and a diploma in horticulture from the Royal Horticultural Society in the U.K. Prior to joining the TRCA she worked as a gardener at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington.
