Mandate
The Thornhill Archives was formally established in 2001 by the Society for the Preservation of Historic Thornhill (SPOHT). The Archives acquires, preserves and makes accessible archival and historical reference materials created by SPOHT and other individuals, organizations and businesses related to the community of Thornhill, Ontario, Canada.
Collections
The Thornhill Archives collects and preserves archival records and other information assets, regardless of format, from individuals, organizations and businesses.

Organization
The Thornhill Archives is operated by the Society for the Preservation of Historic Thornhill (SPOHT). The Society has maintained a provision for the retention and preservation of historically significant records since its incorporation in 1979.
Thornhill Archives Committee
The Thornhill Archives Committee is a small group of volunteers who manage the acquisition, preservation and access activities for the collection.
